The Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies (AA-LST) degree at Landmark College provides a broad learning experience grounded in the liberal arts and sciences to develop in students the ability to knowledgably engage with big questions, both contemporary and enduring, that shape our understanding of human cultures and the natural world. This degree enables students to explore diverse areas of study and better understand their areas of interest and goals. The degree easily articulates with Landmark College’s BA in Liberal Studies. With either a concentration in either psychology or education, it also articulates with the BA in Psychology.

To earn the AA-LST, students must complete 61 credits which includes the 31 credits of the general education core, 12 credits of additional major requirements, and 18 credits of open electives.

General Education Requirements: 31 credits


Major Requirements: 12 credits


  • Arts Distribution (ART, CER, CRW, DRW, MUS, PHO, PNT, THE, VID)
  • Humanities: Must be 2000 level LIT 3 credits
  • Natural Science (BIO, CHE, ECO, ENV, GEO, HTH, NSC) 3 credits
  • Social Science 2000 level (ANT, POL, PSY, SOC, or ECN) 3 credits

Open Electives: 18 credits


18 credits at any level, no more than 6 one-credit courses
