PSY3031 ST: Psychology Research in Practice In this upper division project-based course, students will use their knowledge of research methods to plan and design a study in psychology. The overall goal of the course is for students to gain experience interpreting and designing research in the field. Students will read a range of research examples, identify the methodologies used, and evaluate the strength of conclusions proposed by the researchers. Coursework will include a focus on how to locate research studies and evaluate their quaility and usefulness. To complete the course, student will write and present a research proposal, including a developed research question, a literature review, plan for data collection and analysis, and speculation about implications. This course is for students enrolled in the psychology major and for students who intend to study psychology, education, or a social science in graduate school. Students must have completed PSY2011 with a grade of C or higher as prerequisite for this course. Credits: 3.000
