PSY4000 Psychology Capstone

This is the capstone course for students in their final year of the B.A. psychology degree. In this course, students will answer two questions, “what are my beliefs and values about human behavior and mental processes?” and “how can I use what I have learned?” For the first part of the course, students will review major theoretical perspectives in psychology, reflect on prior coursework and experiences, and formulate their core beliefs about human psychology. For the second part of the course, students will design and complete a project that applies what they know in a real-world context. Projects will be based on individual student goals and may include designing a research proposal, writing a research statement, using psychology to analyze work experience, or studying careers in the field. To demonstrate capstone knowledge in psychology, students will write a philosophy statement, create a written report of their project, and present their work to the community. Credits: 4.000
