ART3034 ST: Experiments in Picturing Place This course is focused on how artists use media and technology to address themes of landscape, ecology, and place. Special emphasis is placed on exploring regional topics impacting New England and the unique ability for the arts to ask complex questions about social and environmental issues. Throughout the semester students will use a variety of media such as audio, video, and photography to create non-fiction portraits of “place”. At the end of the semester students will work collaboratively and across artistic disciplines, to curate the work produced during the course into a group exhibition or a collaborative artifact such as a book, website or other piece of media.
