SPA1011 ST: Elementary Spanish This introductory Spanish language course provides students the opportunity to learn novice-level skills to communicate about a variety of general-interest topics. Students will learn listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills as they explore the cultural context of modern Spanish-speaking societies. To support the language focus of this course, students will also learn basic grammar, vocabulary, and verb conjugations. The course emphasizes common, everyday communication for notice speakers such as greetings and courtesies, reading menus and bills, ordering food, interpreting weather maps, and other common social exchanges. Students will demonstrate their learning through weekly low-stakes activities, graded participation in live sessions, module tests spoken/oral and written, and a written final exam with an oral component. No prerequisites. Credits: 3.000
