ENV1011 ST:Global Environmental Change This course introduces students to fundamental understanding of the Earth’s major physical and biological systems and to modern changes in those systems. Within this context, this course explores global environmental change and potential solutions for a more sustainable future for ecosystems and the humans who inhabit them. Topics include: global climate change; impacts of modern human activities including colonization, modern agriculture, and industrialization; and mass extinction; among others. The course addresses multiple ways of knowing and emphasizes scientific methods of understanding. Modes of learning will include lecture, class activities, discussions, and labs. Outdoor labs are a key part of the course. Credits: 4
