ENV3014 ST: Methods of Environmental Research


Students will explore the methods and skills that are fundamental in scientific understanding of environmental issues. The course includes guided field and laboratory projects that emphasize basic scientific tools including observation, questioning, data collection, and interpretation. Topics include use of existing mapping, complications caused by studying ecosystems including humans, environmental sampling, and field study design. Outdoor labs are a key part of the course.
