HIS2023 ST:History of Gender and Sex in the US In this course, students will explore the history of sex and gender in the United States in relation to other discourses of power and difference, such as class, ethnicity, race, and religion. Topics may include: the legal and social history of marriage, sex education, sexuality, LGBTQ+ rights and activism, masculinity, feminism, and the family during and after slavery, just to name a few. Students will learn how to use primary and secondary sources, and they will have the opportunity to create their own narratives related to gender and sex. Credits: 3
