INT3012 ST:STEM ID and Community This one credit seminar is designed for students participating in the AIE STEMPLOS scholarship program with primary objectives to: teach and support awareness of careers in STEM fields; develop and improve self and professional soft skills; and facilitate faculty and peer mentorship. After initial completion of STEM Community and Identity, students will have identified and may have participated in internship experiences. Students participating in the 3000-level course will take on peer mentoring and leadership roles. This course will meet weekly to engage in a variety of activities designed to promote group cohesion and to forward a student’s STEM identity. The course will augment the students’ work with Career Connections, in their internships and with their mentors by coordinating with these faculty to offer guest speakers, field trips, conference attendance and student presentations. Students will be expected to participate in these cohort gatherings every semester; expectations for participation, engagement and leadership. Credits: 1
