AT3411 Video II This course introduces the student to Video Art as a form of self-expression. Through the use of experimental and conventional techniques the student learns to use video as an art form to explore personal mythologies, socio/cultural issues or for the creation of short narrative-style movies. Through this course the student is introduced to the recent history of video as an art form distinct from film in concept, methodology and production. The student will be introduced to contemporary video artists such as Bill Viola, Coco Fusco, Martha Rosler and Matthew Barney among others. This course also seeks to further expand the technical and conceptual knowledge gathered in the introductory course Video I. Students learn more sophisticated shooting and editing strategies using professional cameras and the Final Cut Pro editing software. This course was formerly coded as AT2411. Credits: 3.000
