A Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (BA-LST) from Landmark College is designed to prepare its graduates to either enter the workforce or further their studies. As our graduates move through adulthood as life-long learners, they will be prepared to think deeply and critically, to solve problems, and to live fully.
Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, students should be able to:
- Draw connections across multiple disciplines to integrate learning;
- Use critical thinking to examine multiple perspectives on issues;
- Understand the impact of culture on values, assumptions, and worldview;
- Communicate with a sense of audience and purpose;
- Apply ethical reasoning to solving problems;
- Engage in community-based activities that demonstrate civic responsibility.
To earn the B.A. in Liberal Studies degree, students must complete 121 credits:
- 58 major required courses
- 24 major required credits,
- 34 major required credits that also count toward general education,
- 9 additional credits to complete the general education requirements,
- 54 credits of open electives (21 must be at the 3000/4000 level)
