MUS1173 Chamber Ensemble Level III

In this course, students develop their skills in performing chamber music from many diverse styles and eras. Repertoire will be different from their experience in MUS1171 or MUS1172. Students will synthesize and exhibit the skill sets necessary to read music, to play in an ensemble setting and to perform in public. The emphasis in this course is on refining and continuing to develop music reading, performance and musical interpretation skills. Students will play one of the instrumental lines in the Chamber Music Repertoire’s compositions or arrangements. Successful completion of MUS1171 and MUS1172 are the prerequisites for this course. Students are required to attend one rehearsal per week and to participate in campus performances during the semester. Credits: 1.000
