HUM2031 Special Topics: Environmental Studies This is an introductory course in environmental studies. Because the course is designed to be taught (or team-taught) by instructors from a variety of fields, it is organized in modules, each with its own topic, methods, and assessment activity. These modules may include: ecology, field biology, earth science, environmental history, environmental ethics, nature writing, eco-criticism, art history, modern environmental movements, environmental education, and “green” business. By considering a selection of these fields in a given semester, the student can develop an understanding of how an environmental perspective can be applied to any aspect of her/his academic work and life.
