AT3412 Writing for the Screen This course familiarizes students with screenwriting for documentaries, multimedia, and movies. Students will study and put into practice character development, narrative strategies, plot rhythms, patterns of dialogue, choosing settings, creating environments, and genre variation. Students will also read screenplays and cinematic criticism outside of class to foster knowledge of both effective writing and interpretation. Movies and videos will be analyzed as models for screen writing projects. Students must have completed three courses at the 2000 level, with grades of C or higher, as prerequisites for this course. Credits: 3
