HU2231 African-American Studies This course offers an introduction to key themes, issues and methods in African-American studies, concentrating on black voices and perspectives. Using an interdiscplinary approach, this course investigates the African-American experience through slave narratives, essays, fiction, poetry, film, music, vernacular literature, photography and other visual arts, autobiographies, websites and field trips to historical sites.
