The Common Core Requirements

At the heart of all Landmark College associate degree programs is the Common Core. The Common Core provides a solid foundation for the associate degree.
|
6 credits: college English
3 credits: Humanities at the 1000 level
3 credits: Social Sciences at the 1000 level
3 credits: Math at the 1000 level
4 credits: Natural or Physical Science at the 1000 level
Note:
These requirements can be met either through enrollment at Landmark or through successful transfer (see the section on Transfer Credits under Academic Policies).
Additional Requirements
The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies degree also includes a Common Core. This common core establishes the foundation for liberal arts, and includes additional requirements.
6 credits: college English
3 credits: Humanities at the 1000 level
3 credits: Social Sciences at the 1000 level
7 credits: Natural or Physical Sciences (with a lab component)
3 credits: Communications at the 1000 level
3 credits: World Languages at the 1000 level or higher
3 credits: Arts at the 1000 level

There are two other common requirements for all Landmark College degrees:
A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher is necessary in order to graduate.
- For an associate degree, a total of 61 credits (distribution varies by degree). Students must earn an additional 39 credits through a combination of degree requirements and electives to achieve the 61 credits that are necessary for graduation for the associate degrees.
- For a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, a total of 121 credits. See specific details about each degree in the Academic Programs .
