This degree helps prepare students for careers in the STEM-related fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Students will learn fundamental computer skills, and the program is particularly suited for students who aspire to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science, game design, and other computing technology fields.

General Education Requirements: 22 credits

WRT1011 Composition and Rhetoric 3 credits
WRT1012 Research and Analysis 3 credits
EDU1011 Perspectives in Learning or EDU1001 Foundations in Learning 3 credits
History, Philosophy or Religion course 3 credits
MAT2731 Introduction to Calculus or higher level math 3 credits
Natural Sciences 1000 or higher with lab 4 credits
Social Sciences 3 credits (recommended: PSY1011 Introduction to Psychology )

A.S. Computer Science Requirements: 29 credits

GAM1011 Intro to Interactive Digital Design 3 credits
GAM2601 Game Story 3 credits
CSC1635 Computer Science I 4 credits
CSC2621 Web Science 3 credits
CSC2635 Computer Science II 4 credits
CSC2636 Mobile Application Programming 3 credits

Communications (COM) or Journalism (JRN) course 3 credits

1000 and 2000 Level Electives: 10 credits

10 credits of electives, at least 6 of which must be at the 2000 level

Recommended electives at the 2000 level: MAT2732 Calculus I ; MAT2741 Linear Algebra ; MAT2833 Calculus II ; MUS 2031 ; 2000 level Natural Science (BIO, ECO, ENV, HTH or NSC)

Students may substitute 3000 level courses for the 2000 level as long as they meet the prerequisites for the 3000 level
