SS2021 Child Development

Child development focuses on the physical, cognitive, and social - emotional changes between conception and adolescence. Students will learn to ask and answer the types of questions that a developmental psychologist would, and they will study the interplay between nature and nurture in development. This course has an experiential component in which students observe children in off-campus sites, providing opportunities to apply theory. Short reaction papers are written throughout the semester, offering students opportunities to demonstrate critical thinking skills in relation to child development. Credits: 3
