MGT3031 ST: Organizational Behavior


This course is designed to prepare students to assume leadership roles in contemporary organizations. Effective leaders must have a deep understanding of how people behave in organizational settings. Management principles and practices will be analyzed and integrated with organizational behavior theory. Students will learn to relate these principles, theories and practices to how leaders can achieve productivity and quality goals and create positive work environments for employees. Specific topics include: leadership; motivation; emotions; conflict management; job and organizational design; problem identification and resolution; organizational politics; and management of individuals and groups. Students will evaluate theories, critique organizational practices, and propose alternative approaches to solve particular problems through discussion, presentation, case study completions and a research project.
